An accelerated Parkinson’s disease monkey model
The researchers establish a cynomolgus monkey model of Parkinson’s disease for preclinical disease research.
Based on overexpression of a-syn and poly(ADP-ribose), the model exhibits accelerated behavioral and pathological phenotypes, autophagy and mitochondrial dysfunction, and gene expression signatures observed in patients with PD.
