Glioblastoma treatment using repurposed trifluoperazine

Trifluoperazine (TFP) is a broad-acting drug that targets multiple hallmarks of cancer including uncontrolled cell growth, evasion of apoptosis, and invasion.
TFP sensitises tumor cells to standard of-care radiation and temozolomide by preventing cellular reprogramming and adaptations to stress.
TFP crosses the blood–brain barrier and accumulates in the brain, but is safe for healthy brain tissue.
TFP may be helpful in alleviating neurological symptoms that occur with tumor– brain interactions including seizures and cerebral oedema.
