What Is Essential Tremor?

Involuntary, rhythmic shaking movements of a body part that is in motion is termed essential tremor.

Normally,  tremor is seen in one half of hand or arm  initially and progresses to the other arm. Head, jaw, neck, voice also show tremor in some patients.

About ~6% of folks over 65 have essential tremor.
