Amino acids in cancer!

Malignant transformation involves metabolic reprogramming that include one carbon metabolism and an important role for amino acids.
In addition, there is context-dependent heterogeneity in amino acid metabolism between tumors and even within distinct regions of solid tumors.
Understanding the complexity and flexibility of amino acid metabolism in cancer is critical because it can influence therapeutic responses and predict clinical outcomes.
This review discusses the heterogeneity in amino acid metabolism and the metabolic diversity of amino acids that can be used for therapeutic interventions in cancer.
