Clinical-grade ovarian support cells for in vitro fertilization using iPSCs
The researchers present the process development and clinical application of an hiPSC-derived OSC product, Fertilo. They demonstrate that transcription factor-mediated hiPSC differentiation produces ovarian support cels (OSCs) that improve the oocyte maturation rate.
They describe the raw material upgrades, process consistency and reproducibility, and analytical assessment required for the generation of clinically suitable hiPSC seed and master cell banks that produce consistent and reproducible OSCs.
They also developed murine oocyte maturation assay to assess product potency.
Compared with traditional IVM, Fertilo showed much favorable outcomes from the first-in-human application.
