Current patient tumor organoid models have drawbacks that limit their applications for predicting response to therapy.
Now, the researchers developed an individualized patient tumor organoid (IPTO) model that closely mirrors the molecular and cellular pathology and tumor microenvironment of primary and metastatic brain cancers.
A prospective clinical study demonstrates that the IPTO model accurately predicts patient drug responses including resistance mechanisms, providing a faithful preclinic platform for brain cancer research.
