Promotion of cell division by ER-mitochondria contacts!

The researchers describe a mechanism by which mitochondrial Ca2+ regulates the metaphase-anaphase transition through  lamin B receptor (LBR) -mediated mitosis-specific ERmitochondria contact sites (ERMCSs).

The LBR-mediated ERMCSs promote the mitochondrial Ca2+ influx surge, which is essential for expanded energy generation during mitosis.
