RNA dysregulation in neurodegenerative diseases

RNA regulation plays a pivotal role in maintaining neuronal health and function and dysregulation of RNA processing may play a role in neurodegeneration.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) bind to RNAs and these interactions are commonly affected in neurodegeneration.

The authors in this review, discuss the dysregulated RNA-processing pathways and the causes of RBP dysfunction across various neurodegenerative diseases.

They also elaborate on the mechanisms of RNA-mediated neuropathogenesis  and explore the development of potential RNA-targeting therapeutic approaches for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
