Exercise, brain mitochondrial health and Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) has been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction.

Mitochondrial quality control processes is disrupted in AD and exercise has been shown to modulate mitochondrial quality control processes in the brain.

Exercise could be a preventative measure for AD but mechanisms of exercise on mitochondrial function is not yet well understood.
