Single-cell omics to study brain aging and rejuvenation

Cognitive function is compromised during brain aging leading to increased potential for neurodegenerative diseases.
Contribution of individual brain cell in age-related dysfunction is not well understood.
Single-cell ‘‘omics’’ technologies, that help in characterization of brain aging at single-cell resolution.
In this review the authors discuss single-cell omics studies of brain aging and associated changes both at single cell and cell-cell interactions level.
They also highlight how single-cell omics studies provide an unbiased view of different rejuvenation interventions and comment on the promise of combinatorial rejuvenation approaches for the brain.
