The gut-brain axis multi-omics for depression
Biological systems in host tissues are evaluated using various multiomics approaches like genetics, epigenetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics etc. Neuroimaging and electroencephalogram (EEG) can reveal brain connectivity patterns.
Parallel omics tools are used to study human microbiome and integration of microbe-host multi-omics analysis to generate biomarkers and improve outcomes in depression.
In addition data-driven machine- learning approaches could be used to unravel multi-omics data and clinical data to understand the diseases.
